The Academic Skills Center at the Carson Campus is located in Room 330 of the Bristlecone Building.
The mission of the Western Nevada College Academic Skills Centers are to provide full academic support and community to students in the form of free tutoring and computer use with the intention of helping students become active and independent learners.
Drop-in tutoring is available at the Carson Campus Academic Skills Center. To receive free drop-in tutoring, you must be a WNC student enrolled in the class for which you request a tutor. To register for tutoring, drop by the ASC, fill out a student information form, and obtain an access code from the ASC receptionist.
Appointment only tutoring is available at both the Carson and Fallon Academic Skills Centers. To make an appointment and for more details, please contact the Carson or Fallon Academic Skills Center.
Online Tutoring is coordinated through the Carson City ASC.
The new library facility on the Carson Campus opened in January 2004. Funds for the project were appropriated by the Nevada Legislature, thanks in large part to the efforts of Assemblyman Joe Dini of Yerington.
The Jim Randolph High Tech Center is used jointly by WNC and the public schools to enhance science and technology education in the region. The 30,000+ square feet center contains Internet-connected classrooms, specialized labs, and various application "pods".
