Student computer labs are available on the Carson City, Douglas, and Fallon campuses. The computer labs are to be used for class related work and are open to any currently enrolled WNC student who has paid the lab access fee. Locations and Hours
 Cedar 331 is allocated completely for student use. The lab is closed on Fridays, Sundays, Holidays, and occassionally on Saturdays - following a Friday holiday. Additional computers - not associated with the labs - are available in the Library. - Monday – Thursday, 10 am – 8 pm
- Saturday, 9 am – 12 pm
The Jim Randolph High Tech Center is used jointly by WNC and the public schools to enhance science and technology education in the region. The 30,000+ square feet center contains Internet-connected classrooms, specialized labs, and various application "pods". Bently Hall houses two student computer labs. These labs are open during all regular campus hours and may be accessed any time a class is not scheduled in the room. Sage Hall has three computer labs available to current students. Room 101 is the typing lab, with 20 computers for keyboarding and hardware courses. Room 102 is the main lab, with 20 computers for general software courses. Room 103 is the teaching lab, with 15 computers for advanced software courses. - Monday, 12:30 – 9 pm
- Tuesday, 10 am – 7 pm
- Wednesday, 2 – 9 pm
- Thursday, 10 am – 4:30 pm
- Saturday, 9 am – 2 pm
 The main instructional center in Fernley features an updated computer lab with 14 stations. - Monday – Thursday, 11 am – 5 pm
Note: Computer Labs may be closed at any Computer Lab site due to unforeseen circumstances (Lab Aid illness, power outage, virus contamination, system operating problems, college closure, etc.) Summer semester hours may vary. If time allows and personnel are available - signs will be posted at the site location. Computer Lab Access Fee
Students must have a "Computer Lab Access" (ID) card in order to use a campus computer lab. The Computer Lab Access (ID) card is valid only during the semester that it was purchased and issued. The Computer Lab Access (ID) card is required for each visit and is valid at all campus locations. The Computer Lab Access (ID) card is non-refundable OR transferable. The cost of a Computer Lab Access (ID) card is: $20 per semester
Students who are enrolled in a semester computer classes will be issued a Computer Lab Access card for no additional charge at the beginning of each semester. Proof of current class registration is required with a photo ID. Students who are enrolled in "Fast Track" or "Short Term" courses have "time dated" lab use - no Computer Lab Access (ID) card will be issued for these classes. Registered students who wish to utilize a computer lab after their course has ended - must purchase a Computer Lab Access (ID) card for access.
To purchase and obtain a Computer Lab Access (ID) card: Computer Lab Access (ID) cards may be purchased at the following campus locations: Carson City campus at the Business Office (Bristlecone/Room 105 - Student Services area) Fallon campus in the Ghetto Hall building at the front reception desk. Douglas campus at the front reception desk.
A receipt will be given to you after purchase - which required for "proof of purchase." Please present your receipt to one of the Lab Aids at one of the locations listed above and a Computer Lab Access (ID) card will be issued.

Software
All lab computers run Windows XP and Office XP Professional. Additional software applications may include: Internet Explorer, Netscape, MS Works, Front Page, Visual Studio, PhotoShop, Adobe Acrobat Reader, and various graphics applications. All computers have floppy disk drives and most have rewriteable CD-Roms and USB-Ports (for flash/jump drives).
Lab Assistants
Lab assistants (if available) are only obligated to provide equipment support and may not be able to answer your software questions. If you encounter a problem with any computer equipment, notify a lab assistant - do not try to fix it yourself.
