Sage Hall has three computer labs available to current students. Room 101 is the typing lab, with 20 computers for keyboarding and hardware courses. Room 102 is the main lab, with 20 computers for general software courses. Room 103 is the teaching lab, with 15 computers for advanced software courses.

Computer Lab Room Use Schedule

There are 40 Gateway and 15 HP computers running Windows XP and Office XP Professional combined with other software. Some computers have rewriteable CD-Roms, USB-Ports (for flash/jump drives) and Zip Drives. The labs also have available three scanners, a slide scanner, three HP Laser Jet Printers, and a Phaser 850 Color Printer.

The computers have Internet access using both Internet Explorer and Netscape and are available for checking e-mail, researching information, or just browsing the Net. Some other software applications that are available include: MS Works 6, Front Page 2002, Dreamweaver MX2004, Visual Basic 6.0, Visual C++ 6, PhotoShop 7.0, PageMaker 7, Adobe Acrobat, 3-d Max, and Illustrator.

Any WNC student who has paid a lab fee or is registered in a computer class can use the computer labs. All funding for the labs are based on the semesters lab fees paid by registered students. The labs should be used for classroom work assignments.
