WNCC Press Looking for Clark Kent - and Clara Kent, Too

Western Nevada Community College's just-launched campus newspaper, the WNCC Wildcat Press, continues publication into the fall semester with another offering of a three-credit journalism class, News Gathering and Writing (JOUR 221, call #37479, Sec. C01). And it's recruiting more city-room staffers.

Meeting weekly, students will form a publication team to handle all aspects of getting out the news: research, interviewing, writing, editing, graphics and photo planning, page layout and printing. Story topics will focus both on and outside the campus.

The Press will be published twice more this year, early and late in the fall semester, by the J221 team, lead by Bob Cutts, a working journalist and adjunct instructor at WNCC.

The fee for the class, which meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-5:15 p.m., is $159. WNCC classes begin Monday, Aug. 30. Register online at www.wncc.edu. For more information, call 445-4406.
