Supporters of the Western Nevada Community College rodeo team are being honored at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 26, at the "Friends of WNCC Rodeo" reception in Virgil Getto Hall at the Fallon campus. Mike Mentaberry, executive director of the Association of Rodeo Committees, is the guest speaker.

Individuals, businesses, and organizations who have contributed to the rodeo team will be acknowledged for their generosity and for their critical roles in keeping the WNCC rodeo team competing in the West Coast Region of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association. The college is hosting its second NIRA rodeo at the Churchill County Fairgrounds on Friday, Oct. 1.

The Western Wildcats rodeo team is supported entirely by private and corporate donations as required by the University and Community College System of Nevada Board of Regents. No state monies are used to operate the rodeo team.

All team donors are invited to attend the reception.
