ESL Students to Compete in Spelling Bee at WNCC

More than 50 English as a Second Language students will compete in the third annual ESL Spelling Bee at Western Nevada Community College on Saturday, Dec. 4. WNCC students from Carson City, Minden-Gardnerville, Fallon and Smith Valley will compete in advanced and intermediate divisions. The grand prize in each division is a complete home computer system.

The free event begins at 6 p.m. in Sarah Winnemucca Hall at the WNCC Carson City campus, 2201 West College Parkway. Refreshments, including international desserts will be served prior to the competition, which starts at 7 p.m. Santa Claus is also expected to make an appearance.
