WNCC Offers Information on Nursing Education and Health Careers
Dr. Judith Cordia, Director of Allied Health programs at Western Nevada Community College, will speak to prospective nursing and surgical technology students at two information nights on Wednesday and Thursday, December 15 and 16 at the Carson City campus. The sessions will provide information about WNCC allied health programs, licensing and employment opportunities.
At the nursing session, Dr. Cordia will discuss the college's highly successful associate degree nursing program.
"I plan to address all of the issues and questions that people considering the nursing profession might have," Dr. Cordia said. "We'll discuss transferability of courses and credits and how to prepare for admissions, including the new academic skills test that will be required as part of the admission process."
The nursing information session is 5:30-6:30 p.m. in Room 221 of the Cedar Building, 2201 W. College Parkway. The information night for students interested in WNCC's surgical technology certificate of achievement program is in Cedar 221.
