Western Nevada Community College is offering a Java computer programming class this spring. Java was developed by Sun Microsystems and has become one of the most popular languages for web computing and for developing business-to-business software, interactive web sites and network programming.
Beginning Java (CIT 130, Sec. C01, call #17082) is a three-credit class taught by Michael Long, who recently joined the WNCC faculty after teaching Java at California State University, Chico. Beginning next fall, CIT 130 will be offered in the fall semester and CIT 230, Advanced Java, will be offered in the spring. For more information about the class, contact Michael Long.
Beginning Java is on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1-2:15 p.m., with a lab on Mondays from noon-1 p.m. at the Carson City campus, 2201 West College Parkway. Register on the college web site at www.wnc.edu. WNCC spring semester classes begin Monday, Jan. 24.
