Law Enforcement Academy Students at WNCC Running for Pride
Eight cadets from Western Nevada Community College's Police Officer Academy will be running from WNCC to the Peace Officer's Memorial (located between the Capitol and the Legislative Building on Carson St.) and back at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 21. The cadets will be escorted by Carson City Sheriff Kenny Furlong on their annual Pride Run, a rite of passage after completing the most difficult part of their training.
The Western Nevada State Police Officers Academy at WNCC provides a 30-week, 33.5 credit program that meets all Nevada and Peace Officers’ Standards and Training requirements to qualify for Category I, II and III certification in Nevada. For more information, call Katie Durbin at 775-445-4408.
