Western Nevada Community College officials will meet with nearby residents on Saturday to discuss the college's plans for its new baseball facility, currently under construction on the Carson City campus at 2201 West College Parkway. The college has invited Silver Oak residents and others living near the field, and the session is open to the public. The meeting will be in Marlette Hall on Saturday, June 18, at 11 a.m.
College representatives will include Helaine Jesse, vice president of Institutional Advancement, baseball head coach D.J. Whittemore and Terry Reynolds of the Wingfield Nevada Group, which is managing construction of the facility. WNCC will be requesting a special use permit at the Carson City Planning Commission on Wednesday, June 29, at 5:30 p.m.
