WNCC President to Speak About Einstein's Contributions
Return to the Jack C. Davis Observatory home page
Western Nevada Community College President Carol A. Lucey will speak Saturday night, July 23, about the revolutionary papers that Albert Einstein published 100 years ago. Lucey, who holds a doctorate in theoretical physics, will speak at 8 p.m. in WNCC's Davis Observatory, 2261 Van Patten Drive, on the Carson City campus. Einstein's three papers revolutionized physics and led to an understanding of relativity (both special and general) and quantum mechanics.
After the talk, visitors will be able to observe stars and galaxies at the observatory's weekly Star Party hosted by the Western Nevada Astronomical Society. For more information, contact Robert Collier or visit the Davis Observatory web site.
