WNCC Honors Outstanding Employees

Western Nevada Community College has recognized a number of faculty, administrators and classified staff members for outstanding service to the college in the 2004-2005 academic year. Honorees include:

• Stephanie Neben, Outstanding Academic Faculty Member
• Teresa Larson, Outstanding Administrative Faculty Member
• Phyllis Mason, Outstanding Classified Staff Member
• Community Colleges Conference Planning Team, Outstanding Team

Neben is an instructor of Career Technology who has also developed a new Health Information Technology program at WNCC, in partnership with area hospitals. She also serves on the college's Curriculum Committee, Academic Faculty Senate and Institutional Excellence committee.

Larson is Western's Budget Officer and was recognized for her skill and outstanding customer service, as well as longtime volunteer service to the college.

Mason is a nine-year employee of the college who works in the Admissions and Records Office helping to maintain student records and database information.

The Outstanding Team of the Year was an ad hoc college committee that conceptualized, organized and managed a statewide community colleges conference at WNCC last spring, attracting several hundred participants. Team members included Darla Dodge, Jaunice Franzen, Jenny Gentine, Karen Gibson, Erich Holcombe, Liz Kappel, Teresa Larson, Michelle Peltier, Sue Richards, Ellen Shafer, Leslie Townsend and Claire Yurovchak.
