There's still time to apply for a scholarship to attend Western Nevada Community College in fall 2006. The application deadline is Monday, April 3.
Many scholarships are available to WNCC students, including for both undecided and undeclared majors. Some scholarships are available to students with disabilities, single parents, and student leaders. Others are offered to Native Americans, Phi Theta Kappa members, and English as a Second Language students. Still more are available to students interested in the machine tool industry, military veterans, and students who have overcome personal hardships in pursuit of their education. In total, there are 60 different kinds of scholarships offered.
To see a list of the scholarships available, visit www.wnc.edu, or go to the WNCC home page, click on offices & services and then financial assistance. There, students will find step-by-step instructions, application forms, helpful tips and links to other college finance-related sites.
Students can also visit any of WNCC's rural centers or the WNCC Financial Assistance Office, located in the Bristlecone Building on the Carson City campus at 2201 West College Parkway, for further assistance. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and until 6 p.m. on Wednesdays.
