Two Western Nevada Community College Rodeo Team members gave strong performances during recent competitions in California at West Hills College in Coalinga, and at Cal Poly State University in Pomona.
Meghan Warren-Madrigan roped a calf and finished 11th out of 49 girls in the breakaway in Pomona, and Chelsee Tuni finished 11th in barrel racing at both competitions.
“The girls came real close to making the short round, especially Meghan,” said Machele Howard, assistant rodeo coach. “We were disappointed because she was so close. We are pleased with her roping; Meghan has really improved.”
Next stop for the rodeo team is April 21-22 at Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, Calif. The team will then travel to California State University in Fresno, Calif., on May 6-7, and then the University of Nevada Las Vegas on May 12-13.

Chelsea Tuni, a WNCC rodeo team member, was 11th in two recent competitions in California.
