Want to learn how to take better care of yourself, play the piano, belly dance, or paint a car? Western Nevada Community College is offering classes for just about everyone on these and many more subjects this summer.
Health Wellness (HE 201, call #29567, Sec. W01) is a four-credit Internet class that will provide lifelong tools to enhance wellness. Health values, attitudes, and behaviors of self and others will be explored. Students will be active in design and execution of personal fitness and wellness plans. Interested? Piano Class I (MUS 111, call #29566, Sec. C02) will introduce the piano with instruction in note reading, technique, theory, and easy repertoire. Students work in a laboratory setting, each using their own electronic piano. This three-credit class is offered Mondays and Wednesdays, June 13-August 5, from 1-4 p.m. Cost 173.25.
Learn belly dancing in Special Topics: Recreation (CMSV 098C, call #25508, Sec. C01) on Mondays, June 12-July 31, from 6:30-8 p.m. Students will learn Tribal Fusion Belly Dance techniques and styles in this non-credit class. Cost: $60.
Other interesting summer classes include Auto Painting, Cinema as Art and Communications, Introduction to Painting, Music Appreciation, Observational Astronomy, Principles of American Constitutional Government, Tae Kwon Do for Life, World Literature, and World Religions.
