Boys and girls of all skill levels and ages will get a kick out of a free Youth Soccer Clinic put on by the Western Nevada Community College women’s soccer team on Saturday, Aug. 12, at the Edmonds Sports Complex, 1555 Livermore Lane.
“Part of being an intercollegiate athletic team is reaching out into the community and becoming a regular part of it,” WNCC Head Coach Hillary Arthur said. “Our relationship with the youth soccer players in the area is very important to us because they will be the future of our program.”
Participants will have opportunities to learn new soccer skills, meet the members of the 2006 Wildcats soccer team, and most important, have fun. Arthur and her players will go over passing, receiving, and offensive/defensive tactics. “We’ll even show them some of our secret moves,” Arthur said, smiling.
Boys and girls from ages 5 to 9 will take the field from 9-10:30 a.m., ages 10-14 from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., and ages 15-18 from 1-2:30 p.m. There is no pre-registration required; participants just need arrive a bit early for each clinic.
