Try Out for one of the most popular musicals ever.
Western Nevada Community College invites auditions for the famed musical "Fiddler on the Roof" Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 16-17, 5:30-8:30 p.m., at the Churchill County High School Auditorium. The production will take place November 9-11 and 16-18.
Anyone interested in auditioning must attend one of the pre-audition workshops Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 14-15, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the high school auditorium. Callbacks will follow on Tuesday, Aug. 22, and the cast will be announced on Wednesday, Aug. 23. In addition to the adult roles, children's parts will be available for those in sixth grade and up.
All selected cast members who are high school juniors and older must enroll in WNCC's Musical Theatre Practicum (MUS 176, Call #39136, F01 or MUS 276, Call#31765, F01). The class meets on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, Sept. 5-Nov. 18, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Cost: $169.50.
"Fiddler on the Roof" is one of the most popular musicals in the world and has played on Broadway for many years. This moving story follows a poor Russian dairyman who raises five daughters in a changing society while still trying to hold on to his traditions. Mary Myers will direct in her third musical at WNCC Fallon.
Performances will take place in the Churchill County High School Theater. Reserved seating tickets will be $12 for adults, $10 for senior citizens, and $8 for children age 8 and under.
