Sarah Fleming, a recitalist, opera singer, and soprano soloist with more than five hundred appearances throughout Canada, Mexico, and the United States, including the New York City Opera and "The Tonight Show," will share her talents and teach students in two fall Western Nevada Community College voice classes in Dayton and Minden.
Voice Class I (MUS 103, Call #37522, Sec. D01) will be offered on Fridays from 2:30-5:15 p.m. at WNCC Douglas. The same class will also be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-5:15 p.m. at Dayton High School (MUS 103 Call #31785, Sec. K01). She has taught at the California Institute of the Arts, United States International University, and San Diego community colleges. Her successful students include Laura Williams, the singing voice of Nala in the "Lion King."
The class is open to everyone but is directed to singers, beginning and intermediate; public school teachers; choral singers; singers preparing for auditions; high school students seeking college credit; and senior citizens who love to sing.
Cost: $184.50. The class may be audited and special discounts are available for senior citizens. Register now at www.wnc.edu for the fall semester that begins Monday, Aug. 28. Info: WNCC Douglas at 775-782-2413 or Dayton High School at 775-246-6240.
