Students looking to earn a bachelor's degree in psychology can attend Western Nevada Community College this fall to work toward their goal. The college has joined hands with Nevada State College to offer students a seamless transfer from a WNCC associate degree into an NSC bachelor's degree program, without having to leave northern Nevada.
Students can begin this fall by taking General Psychology (PSY 101) online or on campus. Other first-year psychology classes being offered at the Carson City campus include Psychology of Personal & Social Adjustment (PSY 102) and Human Sexuality (PSY 134).
Second-year classes available this fall are Introduction to Statistical Method (PSY 210), Introduction to Abnormal Psychology (PSY 241), and Special Topics (PSY 299). Child Psychology (PSY 233) is being offered online. To earn an associate degree at WNCC, coursework must total at least 60 credits.
After completing their first two years, students can enroll in NSC junior and senior level courses offered by Internet, and earn their bachelor's degree in psychology.
Working closely with a WNCC counselor, students can choose classes that apply to both the associate degree at WNCC and to a bachelor's degree at NSC.
Fall classes at WNCC begin Monday, Aug. 28.
