Card players are invited to play in a no-limit, Texas Hold-em Poker Tournament at the Peppermill Hotel-Casino on Thursday, Nov. 9, from 7-11 p.m. The entry fee is $200, and all proceeds will benefit the Western Nevada Community College Wildcats baseball team, which opens its 2007 season in January.
The fun starts in the Tahoe Ballroom, on the fourth floor of the Peppermill, with a cocktail party featuring free beer at 6 p.m. Cards will be in the air at 7 p.m. and the blinds will increase every 20 minutes.
Ten prizes will be up for grabs, including a one-year membership at Red Hawk Golf Course, a $4,000 value.
Early signup offers a benefit - players registering early (before October 1) receive $1,500 in chips. Players signing up before November 1 get $1,250 in chips and everyone who registers after November 1 receives $1,000 in chips. This is an open entry tournament so participants are encouraged to bring their friends.
