Talk With the Police at WNCC Wednesday
Reaching into a glove compartment might seem like a harmless act for a motorist who has just been stopped by a law enforcement officer. But for the officer, it is a time to use caution when approaching the car to ensure that the person is not reaching for something else. The public is invited to Western Nevada Community College Wednesday evening to hear the police perspective in these and other types of situations in a free “Talking with the Police” lecture by Carson City Sheriff’s Deputy Daniel Gonzales.
“This is going to be more of an open question and answer session than a lecture,” said Gonzales, a 2003 Western Nevada State Peace Officer Academy graduate. “However, I will be describing the police mentality in Carson City and why we do certain things.”
The event will be 6-8:30 p.m. in the Cedar Building’s Marlette Hall at WNCC Carson City, 2201 West College Parkway.
