Learn Holistic Therapies in Complementary Medicine Class
Want to learn about acupressure or acupuncture? How about nutritional supplements or traditional Chinese medicine? Two upcoming nursing classes at Western Nevada Community College will introduce students to various holistic therapies and applications.
Complementary Medicine I (NURS 285B, Call #35909, Sec. C01) will be offered on Saturday, Sept. 23 and 30, and Complementary Medicine II (NURS 285B, Call #39110, Sec. C02) meets on Saturday, Oct. 14 and 21. Both one-credit classes cost $81.50 and meet from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. in the WNCC Cedar Building, Rm. 207.
These classes will introduce both therapies that require office visits and self-care therapies than can be done at home under the guidance of a physician. A demonstration and hands-on practice in acupressure or reflexology will provide clinical experience.
Topics will include acupuncture; applied kinesiology; biofeedback training; biological dentistry; bodywork acupressure; chelation, colon, enzyme, and juice therapy; chiropractic; diet, energy, environmental, herbal, mind/body, naturopathic, and vayurvedic medicine; fasting; flower remedies; homeopathy; hydrotherapy; meditation; nutritional supplements, Qigong, and yoga.
