Learn Ballroom Dancing at WNCC Fallon

So you think you can (or want to) dance? Enjoy the chance to do ballroom dancing in a Western Nevada Community College community education class starting October 9. Students will learn and practice social dances they can use in nightclubs and ballrooms, including swing, salsa, waltz, and country western. Beginners are welcome.

Ballroom Dance (CMSV 125C, Call #37538, Sec. F01), a non-credit class, will meet on Mondays, Oct. 9-Dec. 11, from 7:30-9 p.m. at the Old High School Pit, 650 N. Maine St. Five weeks will be spent on each dance covering patterns, leading/following, frame/posture, rhythm/timing, and styling. No partner is required and rotation will be encouraged.

Teaching the class is Debora Edwards, an experienced choreographer and dance instructor. Edwards is the director/choreographer for the Fallon Swing Club, and has extensive experience in ballroom dancing.

Students will be required to wear clothing that allows for movement and shoes with hard soles. Tennis shoes, sandals, flip-flops, or spiked heels will not be permitted.

Cost: $125. Register at www.wnc.edu.
