"Ceramics at WNCC" to Appear in Main Gallery
“Ceramics at WNCC,” an exhibition by Western Nevada Community College art instructors Jill Brugler, Grant Kremers and Jo Robinson, will be featured in the Main Gallery at the college’s Bristlecone Building, Monday, Oct. 9, through Thursday, Nov. 9. The exhibit will feature clay sculptures and functional pottery.
Jill Brugler has been making art objects from clay since childhood. She teaches clay sculpture at WNCC even as she serves as resident potter for the Nevada Museum of Art. Brugler has received undergraduate and master degrees from Northern Arizona University in fine arts and ceramics.
Grant Kremers, a retired elementary and middle school teacher, has taught art for 41 years and at WNCC for the past eight years. He teaches slab and coiling techniques, ceramic molds, pinch pot, and hand thrown pottery on a wheel in his beginning and advanced classes.
Jo Robinson is a ceramics instructor at WNCC Fallon. She enjoys both hand building and wheelwork , but is best known for her life-sized busts, backs, and torsos. She has a studio-gallery at her home in Fallon, where she gives lessons and occasional Raku and pit fire workshops.
A reception for the artists is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 18, 4-6 p.m.
