Enjoy Free Mark Twain Chautauqua Performance at WNCC
Did Mark Twain really have a mole on his chest he called Mr. Cantankerous? Was mining for silver in the Comstock Lode the only reason he came to Nevada? Did he change his name from Samuel Clemens to Mark Twain while writing for the Territorial Enterprise newspaper in Virginia City? Learn the answers to these questions and more on Friday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m. in a free Mark Twain Chautauqua performance at Western Nevada Community College’s Virgil Getto Hall.
Renowned performer McAvoy Lane will portray the late humorist, lecturer, novelist, satirist, and writer in this special presentation that is sponsored by the WNCC Fallon United Students Association and Nevada Humanities Committee.
