Heard the phrase, "You Don't Bring Me Flowers Anymore" lately? Starting Monday, Oct. 30, students who enroll in a new floral design class at Western Nevada Community College Fallon will be singing a different tune as they bring home their own floral arrangements.
In Floral Design (CMSV 132C, Call #35953, Sec. F03), a non-credit community education class on Mondays from 7-9 p.m., students will learn about different flowers, how to take care of them, and how to make flower arrangements.
"It's a perfect time to take the class because we will be working on Thanksgiving and Christmas centerpieces," instructor Doreen Carr said. "Students will be able to take these home, along with anything else they create in the class."
Carr has more than 25 years of floral experience and has worked for a wedding specialist and master floral designer. She now owns and operates Desert Rose Florist in Fallon.
Cost: $175, including $50 lab fee for all supplies. Enrollment is limited so students are encouraged to register early.
Press Release: October 20, 2006
