Enjoy a Vocal Celebration of Jazz with Ce Ce Gable
In the mood for a little jazz? Don’t miss a free concert by regionally acclaimed vocalist Ce Ce Gable, in Western Nevada Community College’s newly renovated Sarah Winnemucca Hall Friday, April 20, 7 p.m. The show will pay tribute to the great jazz standards of the 1950’s with a contemporary twist. Gable will present the works of George Gershwin, Thelonious Monk, Stephen Sondheim and Kurt Weill.
One of the premier jazz singers in the area, Gable has performed in jazz clubs around the world including Athens, Munich, Fiji, New Orleans, New York City, Las Vegas, Palm Springs and more.
This will be the first performance in Sarah Winnemucca Hall since its renovation. Articulating audience risers that seat more than 140 have been installed, as well as black draperies, new flooring, and a fresh coat of black paint to give the room a true “black box” atmosphere. Special thanks goes to the Steinway Piano Gallery of Reno who will lend a Steinway concert grand piano to WNCC for the performance.
This jazz celebration will be the fifth event of Western's 2006-2007 Faces, Voices & Stories Cultural Series, sponsored by the Office of Student Activities & United Students Association. Sarah Winnemucca Hall is located in the Aspen Building. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
