Make a Video, Create a Quilt, or Learn Feng Shui at WNCC

Looking to get in on the latest trend and post a video on "You Tube" that has a professional look? Want to relieve stress, and create a more positive outlook on life with feng shui? How about learning a new hobby like quilting? Western Nevada Community College will offer several non-credit community education workshops on these subjects starting Saturday, April 7.

Introduction to Feng Shui (CMSV 095C, Call #17013, Sec. C01), on Saturday, April 7, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., will introduce the foundational theories of this ancient practice with tools and methods that students can apply to their own living spaces. Exterior and interior form, energy flow, furniture arrangement and color will be covered. Instructor Nina Wilson has been a professional feng shui consultant for 12 years. Cost: $60.

Special Topics: Video Production Workshop (CMSV 094C, Call #11096, Sec. C01) will be offered Tuesday-Wednesday, April 10-11, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Students will receive hands-on training in developing a story line, producing, directing, makeup, wardrobe, lighting and camera techniques. Instructor Temma Keaton has more than 35 years of experience in film and television production. Cost: $175.

Basic Quilting (CMSV 086C, Call #17008, Sec. C01) will be available on Tuesdays, April 10-May 15, from 5:30-8 p.m. Students will learn color, fabrics, and rotary cutting. Instructor Sue Muller, an experienced quilter, will teach students fabric choice in color and texture, and how they relate to quilts they will be making. Cost: $85.
