WNCC Fernley to Offer Baby-Sitting Certification Class
Taking care of children can be a fun and rewarding experience for teens and pre-teens. But what happens if a child has a medical emergency or scrapes a knee? Western Nevada Community College offers a non-credit baby-sitting class for youth age 11-17 to help them effectively deal with these kinds of situations.
Baby-Sitting Certification (CFK 102, Sec. E01), will meet Saturday, May 5, 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., at the Fernley High School Old Library. Donna Miller, an authorized American Red Cross provider, will cover rescue breathing, first aid and more. CPR will not be offered.
Students will receive a 160-page Red Cross manual, a certificate of completion, and an American Red Cross certification card.
Cost: $67.50. Participants should bring a sack lunch.
