Boys and girls of all skill levels and ages will get a kick out of a free Youth Soccer Clinic put on by the Western Nevada College women’s soccer team on Sunday, Aug. 19, at the Edmonds Sports Complex, 1555 Livermore Lane.
Participants will have opportunities to learn new soccer skills, meet the members of the 2007 Wildcats soccer team, and most important, have fun. Head coach Hillary Arthur, the 2006 Region XVIII Coach of the Year, and her players will go over passing, receiving, offensive/defensive tactics, and more.
Boys and girls from ages 5 to 9 will take the field from 9-10:30 a.m., ages 10-14 from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., and ages 15-17 from 1-2:30 p.m. There is no pre-registration required; participants just need arrive a bit early for each clinic. Campers also should bring plenty of sun block and water, and have cleats and shin guards.
Western's fall 2007 season kicks off with a road contest on Saturday, Aug. 25, against American River College in Sacramento at 2 p.m. The Wildcats first home game is Friday, Sept. 14, against Lassen College at 4 p.m. at the Edmonds Sports Complex.
