Learn How to Paint and More at WNC Yerington This Fall
Art has always been a big part of Sandy England’s life. The award-winning artist loves to share with others the joys and wonders of art. England will be teaching how to paint with acrylics and watercolors in two classes at Western Nevada College Yerington this fall. Classes begin on Monday, Aug. 27.
“Learning and sharing with others is a big part of my classes,” said England, who has won several awards from the Nevada Artists Association. “Students will be encouraged to continue to learn and grow as artists, but, most of all, to have fun.”
Creative Crafts I: Acrylic Painting (CR 136B, Call #31181, Sec. Y01), is a three-credit class available on Mondays from 7-9:45 p.m. Students will learn the characteristics of acrylic, the mediums used, and painting techniques. A wide range of subjects will be studied. Cost: $176.25.
Special Topics in Crafts: Creative Watercolor (CR 299B, Call #39077, Sec. Y01) is a three-credit course that will meet on Thursdays from 7-9:45 p.m. This class will cover still life, landscape, and experimental techniques. Students will be using other mediums with watercolor paint such as pen and ink, colored and watercolor pencils, graphite, and more. Cost: $181.25.
Other WNC Yerington class topics include anthropology, arts & crafts, bird watching, chemistry, computer applications, computer information technology, counseling and guidance personnel services, education, English, geography, mathematics, music, nursing, philosophy, psychology, Spanish, and writing.
