Child Care Assistance to Benefit WNC Fallon Students

Attending Western Nevada College in Fallon will be easier this fall for students with small children. The college is offering child care financial assistance to qualifying applicants. Students who maintain a 2.0 grade point average or higher and complete 67 percent of their classes can qualify for $50 per credit plus $100 per child, up to $800.

Interested parents are encouraged to inquire right away, because the financial assistance is available on a first come, first serve basis. Students must reapply for the funds each semester, and all they need to provide is evidence of a business license from their selected child care facility.

"Offering child care financial assistance is another way that WNC helps students attend college and achieve success," WNC Counselor Ron Marrujo said.
