The Daughters of the American Revolution, Battle Born chapter, have presented an American flag to Western Nevada College to hang at John L. Harvey Baseball Stadium. Baseball Coach DJ Whittemore, WNC Vice President Helaine Jesse, and WNC students accepted the gift in a ceremony.
“The flag was presented to Barbara Hardwick by the U.S. Military in honor of her husband, Alvin, and his service to our nation,” said Stacy Woodbury, DAR corresponding secretary. “The Daughters of the American Revolution, Battle Born chapter, are always looking to foster patriotism in our community and we wanted Barbara’s flag to be enjoyed by everyone who attends an event at the stadium.”
The flagpole was also a donation, made by Carole Terry in memory of her parents, Joel and Muriel Anderson.
