Learn Ballroom Dancing at WNC Fallon
Want to learn how to dance like the stars? Western Nevada College is offering chances to learn ballroom dancing this fall in a non-credit community education class for adults, as well as two College for Kids classes that begin soon.
Ballroom Dance (CMSV 125C, Sec. F01) with Debora Edwards will take place on Mondays, Oct. 1-Dec. 3, 7:30-9 p.m. Students will learn and practice waltz, swing, rumba, and cha cha. Cost: $125.
Young dancers will have two opportunities to develop their skills in cha cha, tango, salsa, maranga, and country swing dancing. Ballroom Dance (CFK 1403, Sec. F01 & F02) will take place in two different sessions: Mondays, Oct. 1-Dec. 3, are for ages 8-11, and Tuesdays, Oct. 2-Dec. 4, are for age 12 to junior high. Both courses will be from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
Students should wear comfortable shoes that allow movement. Dance shoes such as ballet slippers or jazz shoes are ideal; however, hard sole shoes will work. Flip-flops, sandals, tennis shoes, or heels will not be allowed. Cost: $100.
All classes will meet at the Old High School Pit.
