Western Nevada College Names New Chief Budget Officer

Jim Manning has joined Western Nevada College as chief budget officer after working for the past 15 years as a budget analyst with the Nevada Department of Administration. Manning brings an understanding of the Nevada System of Higher Education budget process to the college, as well as experience with the state budget.

In his new role, Manning will oversee all aspects of budgeting and ensure that the college’s financial resources and operations are used to support the college mission and are in compliance with all pertinent external financial regulations.

He has served as budget analyst with the Nevada Department of Prisons, senior accountant for the Nevada Department of Human Resources, auditor for the Nevada Department of Taxation, and auditor for the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles.

Manning has a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture-Renewable Resources and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Reno.
