WNC to Honor Veterans at Special Luncheon

To recognize the many sacrifices that military veterans have made to the country, Western Nevada College will host a luncheon on Thursday, Nov. 8, from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. The “WNC Veterans Luncheon” in Sarah Winnemucca Hall will feature guest speakers, raffle prizes, and a complimentary lunch.

“We wanted to honor our veterans for what they’ve done for us,” said WNC’s Kathryn Clark-Ross, event organizer. “Everyone is welcome to attend, especially students who are receiving VA benefits.”

Guest speakers will include Scott Drew from the Reno Veterans Center and Chris Marchand, a military crew chief for General David Petraeus, the commanding general for Operation Iraqi Freedom.
