Gallery Exhibit To Warm Winter Cold
Bright colored floral prints will grace the walls of Western Nevada College's Main Gallery during the darkest months of the year, bringing a refreshing hint of the spring ahead. Artist April Richardson's mixed media work will show Monday, Dec. 3, through Friday, Jan. 11.
According to Richardson, the flowers of her exhibit awaken memories and emotions. "When I pulled together the work for this exhibit," she said, "I sifted through trilliums, lilies, azaleas, ferns and quaking aspen leaves. Each image carried me back to the time and place of each drawing….I considered the passage of time and seasons represented by the piles of pictures, the years between my father's death and my mother's decline, and the reflection of my face when I look into her eyes."
