High school baseball players who are graduating seniors are invited to try out for the Western Nevada College Wildcats baseball team. An open tryout is set for Wednesday, May 21, at 4 p.m., at John L. Harvey Field, 2201 West College Parkway, Carson City. It is expected to last up to two hours.

Western will provide bats and baseballs for the tryout. Players will need their own uniform and glove. A one-time $10 fee will apply.

The 2008 Wildcats are in the hunt for a Scenic West Conference Championship. In 2007, they were Region XVIII champions, Western District Champions, and placed in the top five at the National Junior College Athletic Association World Series.
