WNC Broadens Horizons With Chinese, Arabic Classes

As the world becomes smaller, cultures mingle and it becomes more important in business and other fields to communicate with those from distant continents.

Western Nevada College is offering three-credit classes in Arabic and Mandarin Chinese this fall semester at its Carson City campus. Classes begin Monday, Aug. 25. Conversational Chinese (CHI 101B, C01, call number 37439) will be offered on Wednesdays, 7-9:45 p.m.

Conversational Arabic (ARA 101B C01, call number 31782) will be offered on Mondays, 5-7:45 p.m. The cost for each three-credit course is $192 for Nevada residents.

Language students interested in pursuing French, German, Spanish and Italian can also receive instruction at WNC.
