WNC Douglas Campus Offers Wide Variety This Fall
Go to college and skip the commute. Western Nevada College Douglas campus is offering 175 classes in a wide variety of subjects for the fall 2008 term that begins Monday, Aug. 25. Recent high school graduates and adults seeking new workforce skills will find hands-on and online classes that lead to a degree or career advancement.
Registration for fall classes is available online at www.wnc.edu.
Classes range from arts and sciences like anthropology, biology, chemistry, English, geography and math to technologies and personal interest topics.
Western has expanded its internet courses and offers six complete degrees online: Associate of Arts, Associate of Applied Science in accounting, business, or management; Associate of General Studies; and Certificate of Achievement in Bookkeeping. In addition, students can work online toward a Health Information Technology degree that teaches the business end of the medical field.
Some 700 students attend at WNC Douglas each semester, taking advantage of the shorter commute and fuel savings.
The Douglas Campus is located at 1680 Bently Parkway South in Minden. Counseling appointments can be scheduled in advance, and a new student orientation is set for Thursday, Aug. 14, at 5:30 p.m. Information: 782-2413.
