WNC Players Will Be Part of High Profile Programs
Six Western Nevada College baseball players will sign National Letters of Intent Wednesday to play at high profile Division I and NAIA schools next year.

Wednesday is the first date the players are allowed to sign. Head Coach D.J Whittemore said that with this year's six players, a total of 20 Wildcats will have signed with Division I and NAIA baseball programs since May 2006.
In its three years of competition, the Western baseball program has seen much success, including an NJCAA Regional Championship and a trip to the NJCAA World Series in 2007. The team's record was 38-20 last season as the Wildcats finished one game out of first place in the Scenic West Athletic Conference, and the team boasted its first honorable mention NJCAA All-American.
Several former Wildcats players have also moved up to the pros. Seven pitchers played in the minor leagues this past season.
