Broadway classics play February 13-15
What happens when you gather a galaxy of stars to shine for one magnificent evening? A "Grand Night for Singing."
The Western Nevada Musical Theatre Company will open its 2009 season by assembling some of its brightest stars from past productions to relive the greatest moments of Rodgers and Hammerstein. The breathtaking production took Broadway by storm and garnered wildly enthusiastic critical reviews.
Performers who have starred in the company's past shows will have the chance to share the stage with each other in this acclaimed revue that one critic called "a slice of heaven."
The show will play in three performances at the Carson City Community Center, Friday-Sunday, Feb. 13-15.
Producer/director Stephanie Arrigotti said, "Often these performers compete against each other for leading roles and take turns on stage. Not only will it be great fun for them to perform with each other, having them all together should create an evening that will knock our socks off!"
The show features some of Broadway's greatest moments, including "The Carousel Waltz," "If I Loved You," "Some Enchanted Evening," "Kansas City" and "I'm Just a Girl Who Cain't Say No.". It is choreographed by Gina Kaskie-Davis and performed by more than 30 singers and dancers, including Maria Arrigotti, Leoney Berg, Lynne Heller, Adam Machart, James McDuffie and Sarah Pennebaker.
The production plays at the Carson City Community Center Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets: $20 for general admission, $18 for students and seniors, and $16 for youth 17 and under.
