Western Nevada Musical Theatre Presents...
A crash of drums. A flash of light. And the Western Nevada Musical Theatre Company explodes with the Andrew Lloyd Webber spectacular, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
This international audience hit plays weekends at the Carson City Community Center May 8-17. The show is a lovely, comic and colorful journey through the Biblical story of young Joseph, sold into slavery by his brothers after his father favored him with a gorgeous colored cloak. His gift of prophecy saves him from an uncertain fate and helps him to rescue Egypt from famine.
Animated with a high-energy mix of music and dancing from 50's rock to calypso to country western, this show is a favorite with casts and audiences alike. The show is hailed for its family-friendly storyline, universal themes and catchy music.
Starring as Joseph is James McDuffie, known to Carson City audiences as Joe Hardy in last spring's Damn Yankees. Patrick Hardy plays Jacob, Jerry Lowe is Pharaoh and the narrators are Brynn Garrett, Caitlin Papp, Jackie Reichelt and Carla Wilson.
Stephanie Arrigotti produces and directs, Gina Kaskie-Davis is the choreographer.
The production plays at the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. Williams St., weekends, May 8-17. Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:30 p.m., Sunday matinees are at 2 p.m.
