"Brainy 'Cats" Earn Academic Honors
In only four years of existence, Western Nevada College's baseball team has been to the Junior College World Series twice, this year finishing third at the national tournament in Grand Junction, Colo.
But the team's success is found in more places than on the base paths. The Wildcats have an outstanding academic record as well: a team GPA of 3.16 this year and NJCAA academic honors each year to date.
During the World Series, the local Grand Junction, Colo. "Daily Sentinel" even wrote a feature story headlined "The Brainy 'Cats" to describe the WNC team.
