Musical revue plays Valentine's Day weekend
Looking for the perfect Valentine's Day date? The Western Nevada Musical Theatre Company offers a high-stepping glimpse at Broadway's best, from Jersey Boys to Mamma Mia, in a sparkling revue, "Opening Night on Broadway."
The production will play in three performances at the Carson City Community Center, Friday-Sunday, Feb. 12-14, featuring a live orchestra and a cast of more than 40 performers, many of them leads from previous shows who now have the opportunity to share the stage with each other.
Producer/director Stephanie Arrigotti said, "Often these performers compete against each other for leading roles and take turns on stage. Not only will it be great fun for them to perform with each other, having them all together should create an evening that will knock our socks off!"
The show features music from some of Broadway's greatest shows, including "Mary Poppins," "Wicked," "Mamma Mia"," Jersey Boys", "Hairspray" and more.
Show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets: $20- general admission, $18-students and seniors, and $16-youth 17 and under.
This is the first show of the 2010 season, and season tickets offering discounts and preferred seating are still available. For tickets and information, cal 775-445-4249.
