WNC Fallon Gallery Features Tahoe Inspired Art
Work by Galen Brown
Western Nevada College Fallon campus art gallery presents a colorful and dynamic exhibition that is inspired by the environs of Lake Tahoe. "Red, Blue and Other Colors" by Galen Brown will show through Friday, Feb. 26, in the Virgil Getto Building gallery.
An open artist reception will be Thursday, Jan. 28, 4-6 p.m. at WNC Fallon, 160 Campus Way.
Brown offers a strikingly contemporary and unusual exhibit for this area. His work is often seen as a commentary on the repetitive nature of many of the occupations in today's world. The artist grew up in a Lake Tahoe beach house, watching weather and the water change constantly, and this experience influences his art in the way he records the moods and the repetition of nature's waves. Brown's media include common materials from his work as a picture framer and wood worker, and other items at hand.
