Series continues through the weekend

The Western Nevada College softball team braved windy, cold weather against the College of Southern Idaho Friday afternoon, but the girls from the northern country weathered the conditions best. The Golden Eagles dominated game one of a four-game series 9-0, allowing WNC only one hit in five innings.
WNC's only hit came in the bottom of the fifth inning on a single to left center field by designated hitter Ashley Williams.
CSI started its first five-run rally with two outs in the top of the second inning, scoring one run in the fourth, then three more in the top of the fifth.
Jennifer Watkins pitched a complete game for the Wildcats, recording three strikeouts.
In game two, the Wildcats fell to the Golden Eagles 16-1 in five innings. WNC recorded two hits by Alicia Merrell and Ashley Williams, with Merrell scoring the run for the Wildcats.
The series continues at noon Saturday, Edmonds Sports Complex, Carson City.
