Press Release
Games will start at 2 p.m. on Friday
Wildcats Softball has taken to the road for all but three weeks during the 2010 season, and the team is ready to come home for their final home-stand appearance against the College of Southern Nevada. Games are Friday, April 23, 2 and 4 p.m. at Edmonds Sports Complex, 1555 Livermore Lane, and Saturday, April 24, noon and 2 p.m. at Carson High School, 1111 N. Saliman Road.
Last weekend, the Wildcats traveled to Ephraim, Utah to face Snow College, resulting in four upsets, falling to the Badgers, 0-7, 4-6, 0-8 and 4-8.
The weekend losses were not without lively bats. On Friday, Frances Estrada, Paige Savage, Alissa Rampa and Kelsie Fahr earned two hits each in game one, with Estrada and Savage also grabbing hits in game two. Lisa Senko, Alicia Merrell and Elisa Dawson added hits for WNC in game two as well. On Saturday, the ladies came up empty in game one, but delivered five hits in game two, one from Estrada, and two from Merrell and Fahr.
Coach Leah Wentworth says the team is looking forward to "home games and warm weather" as they prepare to host CSN.
