Western Nevada College is adding welding to the schedule of Yerington Center classes offered this fall. The classes offer students of all ages the opportunity to learn welding through classroom and hands-on training. The classes can be taken to gain experience in the field, and also to earn credit toward an Associate of Applied Science degree or Certificate of Achievement in Welding Technology.
Welding I (WELD 211) introduces welding safety, environmental awareness, oxy-acetylene welding, cutting and brazing as well as shielded metal-arc. The three-credit class meets Mondays, 6-8:45 p.m. Cost is $269.25.
Welding I Practice (WELD 212B) can be taken along with Welding I, and helps students develop entry-level welding skills. The two-credit class meets Wednesdays, 6-8:45 p.m. Cost is $194.50.
Fall classes begin Monday, Aug. 30, and continue through Friday, Dec. 17, at WNC Yerington, located at Yerington High School, 114 Pearl St. To register: www.wnc.edu or 463-2412.
