Get introduced to Asian cooking in three Saturday morning classes offered through Western Nevada College. Chef Louie Wai will tantalize the taste buds and teach the techniques for cooking Asian entrees, soups, salads and sauces. The non-credit Community Education classes will meet on July 10, 17, and 24, 9-11 a.m. Cost is $75.
Students will learn preparation techniques and proper handling of food when making appetizers, soups, salads, entrees and sauces. Chef Louie will open his restaurant kitchen to all those interested in cooking.
Wai began his culinary career as a student at the Culinary Institute of Hong Kong before he moved to the United States. He has more than 40 years of experience in the culinary field, including 10 years as lead chef for Harrah's Lake Tahoe.
